Tala - A Short Film

Donation protected
Aloha, Kumusta, and Welcome,

We appreciate your generous support of Tala, a narrative short about a naive girl who struggles with her father's imperfections as she works toward reconciliation with the other members of her family. Our film delves into aspects of the Filipino American experience in the diaspora that are often left unspoken such as domestic abuse & paternal abandonment and is inspired by the lived experience of our director, Justin Ocampo. Sharing such a personal story is part of his way of sharing his heart with the world. In doing so, he hopes to let others know that they are not alone.

To help share this story with the world, we will need your help. Please help us reach our goal of $1000, which will help cover the costs of film festival submission fees. Any additional or leftover funds will be distributed equally amongst the cast and crew.

To learn more about us and see special BTS photos,  check out our electronic press kit (EPK) linked below. Our EPK also contains a personal director's statement by Justin Ocampo.
