Talen's SCSO Argentina Trip

Donation protected
My first grandson, Talen, has always put forth his utmost effort in everything academic and artistic—and now much of that work has given him an incredible opportunity that would help further both his experience and career—but in order to get him there, we need your help!

By as young as six years old, Talen had developed a love for music, writing, and movies, (even developing and filming his own mini-movies for many years,) assuring us very early that his future lay in the arts. Halfway through his junior year of high school, in the midst of honors and college-level courses, as well as being Editor-in-Chief of his school’s literary magazine and writing for the school’s newspaper, Talen first began to learn to play the piano. Then, after only a year of lessons, though with an undeniable amount of work with his newfound natural gift, he auditioned to Shenandoah Conservatory and was accepted with a great scholarship!

Now a sophomore at Shenandoah, studying Music Production & Recording Technology while working several part-time jobs to cover his tuition, Talen has proven himself once again by working already to the top of his field. With intense dedication to his studies and a constant soaking-in of wisdom from his many mentors at school, he has shown a natural talent for what will work (and how to fix things when they don’t) as well as an affinity for helping others both in and out of the classroom, already becoming an official tutor for several courses in his major.

After a string of huge successes in his fall semester, (including shows, recordings, and live sound gigs, as well as an incredibly-well-received immersive sound design job for one studio theatre production,) Talen is already set up to do even more in the spring—including being the student liaison for the implementation of a new surround sound system in one of the school’s theatres.

All of this has not gone unnoticed by his professors! Now, in addition to all of that, he has been invited to go to Argentina with the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra for 10 days to help record the group’s performances!

This is an incredible opportunity for experience and would be a priceless addition to his resume. However, there is a very short window for him to raise the money: $2000 by January 30th.

As such, I’ve set up this page to help as much as possible. Anything and everything we can raise for him would be greatly, greatly appreciated, and never forgotten for its importance in furthering Talen’s career. We can’t do this without you!
