We are living in a world faced with many challenges, and most of these challenges are brought on because of GREED. During times like these, we need artists and musicians to do what they can to raise the social consciousness, but major record labels are pushing music that is geared towards the exact opposite. Tales From Earth, Inc. is a concept album, live show, and accompanying web site which uses music and lyrics to raise awareness about a host of issues brought onto the world by personal, corporate, and political greed, and inspires listeners to take actions via the TFEI website and elsewhere to bring about needed change in the current greed-driven direction of the world.
TFEI is performed both live and on album by rock band supplemented by world instruments, horns, and strings, and features lyrics covering topics including drug cartels in Mexico, displacement of indigenous tribes in Brazil, sweat shops in Bangladesh, blood diamond mines in Africa, global warming crises around the world, and for-profit prisons in the United States. The songs are written by ASCAP award winning songwriter Dan Sheehan and performed by a host of amazing musicians including Sheehan, drummers Ori Yekutiel and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Krusen (Pearl Jam, Candlebox), Yes/Moody Blues keyboardist Patrick Moraz, singers Vaneese Thomas (Eric Clapton band and more) and Karmina Dai, John LaBarbera, trumpet player Vinnie Cutro, saxophonist Peter Furlan, mbira player Kevin Nathaniel, Andy Krikun, string players Nadya Kourani and Paul Lee and sitarist Jake Brown.
Last year we raised some funds to get the project started, and we now need funds to finish and promote the album. Our first priority will be to pay the participating musicians (except for Dan) who have all agreed to perform at generous rates, and then to mix and master the album. Remaining funds will go towards promotion so we can raise awareness among as many people as possible about these crucial issues.
You will receive a copy of the CD, and depending on your contribution level, we are offering other items as well.
Thank you for your support!!!
