On behalf of the Family of Talib Laird Reid, thank you for your support, both financially and spiritually, during this difficult time. We have reached our goal and have the funds to bury Talib. All funds that remain will be applied towards purchasing a memorial plaque(headstone) to mark his burial site.

Talib’s Burial Fundraiser is officially over

The Janazah(Funeral prayer and burial) for Talib Reid will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 10:00am. The service will take place at Bury Me Muslim Gardens(Section 22) which is located within:

Cedar Hill Cemetery

4111 Pennsylvania Ave

Suitland-Silver Hill, Md. 20746

If you plan to attend, please arrive at 9:30 and begin to form the processional line on the road to the right as you go through the gate. We will wait there for the hearse and then proceed to the site. Please be on time!

A Muslim funeral service is brief. If you have never attended, we ask your patience and respect as we fulfill the desires of Talib. Please do not bring flowers, balloons, bottles, etc to leave at the gravesite. Those things are not allowed.

There is no dress code, but modesty is desired.

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Talib Reid. Talib was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of many of his former track/Field athletes, fellow coaches, friends and it’s our turn to give back to his family in their time of need. We are raising money to cover the costs of the funeral and memorial services for Talib's family as this passing was completely unexpected. We know that he wanted to be buried as he worshiped. The funds donated will be sent directly to BuryMeMuslim, Inc. who is handling the arrangements. Please keep the Talib's family in your hearts and minds and prayers.
