Tallahassee Developmental Center, a long-term residential care facility for adults with developmental disabilities. It has been hit hard by COVID-19, with over 32 residents and 45 employees tested positive for the coronavirus.
Steps have been taken to separate the infected from the uninfected residents, as well as preventing staff in infected units from going to the uninfected unit. Supervisors have plugged up gaps in shift coverage with employees from Pyramid, a sister company that provides art classes and other day training in the community. The facility has been following all guidelines from the CDC and Agency for Healthcare Administration from the beginning of the pandemic and will continue to do so.
We are raising funds for Pyramid, Inc and Tallahassee Developmental Center to off-set the unanticipated cost they are incurring to care for their residents in these trying times. Funds raised will be used to:
~ Proceeds will primarily support staff who have lost their income. Federal stimulus funds and other benefits will not cover their rent and house payments or put food on their table.
