Talon Edwards Family

My name is Jasmine and I am a family friend of the Edwards. Talon's unexpected and heartbreaking passing has made so many of you ask how you can help. As of right now the family has enough food to last “months” as Raylee put it. Their freezer is full and so will be their bellies.
If you would like to contribute money you can, but please do not feel obligated to do so. This money may not be needed right now but it will go to Shelley to use on whatever she may need in the future.
I know Shelley is thankful for all the love, support, and consideration you all have shown her and her kids over the last two weeks.
With deepest gratitude,
Jasmine Bocich
Talon Edwards (35 years old) was the husband of Shelley Edwards and the father of 3 children: Raylee (14), Parker (11), and Lena (6).
On Saturday, June 24th, Talon started to feel sick with a headache, dizziness, and severe body aches. Early Sunday morning Shelley took him to Spring Hill ER. Monday morning, they determined he had C Diff and would need to stay for 3-4 days to be monitored on the antibiotics due to his previous heart conditions. By 6pm they believed he had had a stroke and moved him into ICU.
Tuesday, 27th, the morning CT scan showed that the stroke caused a small bleed on the left side of his brain. Evening CT scan showed the bleed on the left size got bigger, and that the right side was now bleeding. He was then transferred to Mobile Infirmary in case he needed a Neurosurgeon.
Wednesday, 28th, the brain bleed was determined to be non-traumatic but he was still showing bacteremia in his blood. Doctors changed his antibiotics and were trying to locate the source of the infection.
Thursday, 29th, CT scan showed more trauma, most likely a stroke, that caused some clots in his brain. Thou the bleeding had stopped they now had to try to get the blood thinner out of his system to dissipate the clots. Talon with all this was still responsive and fighting for his life. To help his body rest, he was intubated.
Saturday, July 1st, TE Echo showed he had mitral valve endocarditis; An infection on the mitral valve of his heart. He was running a fever, heart rate all over the place, and his respirations were high. At this point he was not stable enough for surgery to replace the valve.
Sunday, July 2nd, was the day the family was suppose to leave to head to Disney World for a week long, magical, family vacation.
July 4th, Talon still had a fever of 102. White blood count was up, blood pressure was down, and so they put him back on his blood thinners. His respirations were 45 a minute so they went up on the ventilator.
Around 1 a.m., July 5th, Shelley received the call that we all prayed would not come; She need to rush to the hospital because they did not believe that Talon would make it through the morning. Shelley and Talon’s mother, and brothers all gathered around him to say their good byes before turning off the ventilator.
Talon was a retired Police Officer, a Coach, Assistant Coach, Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Friend, that was loved by so many. Most stories told about Talon makes you laugh until your gut hurts. He was entertaining, life of the party that didn’t care if you laughed at him as long as you were laughing. The love and support these past two weeks proves just how loved he was and still is.
Talon may be gone from our sight, but he will never be gone from our hearts.
