Tam (a rescued Border Collie) Needs Surgery
Donation protected
A wonderful 7 year old border collie named Tam has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Tam had life saving surgery at Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston last week, which has given Tam the life she deserves!
Tam’s owner is a senior on a fixed budget and spent all of her savings on the surgery which cost over $5000. Her owner lives off soc sec and is a pet sitter to help cover costs. She makes most of her money in the summer which she lives off of in the winter, when she gets fewer jobs. She has depleted her savings to pay for the survey and will still have more bills. In spite of this financial hardship Tams owner still moved forward with the surgery to save her beloved Tam.
Tam was rescued by her owner 7 years ago when she discovered that Tam’s owner was going to put Tam down because she didn’t meet the owners needs for a herding dog, Tam was too ‘sweet’! Tam had been verbally and physically abused so by the time she was adopted by her new owner she didn’t trust anyone. Tam’s new owner took her time to gain Tam’s trust and to introduce her to other people and animals to help her recover emotionally. Tam is a very special and sweet dog and her owner is just as special.
Tam’s owner is unaware of this fundraiser. As of now the 65 and older low income community she lives in has donated $1200! We hope we can raise some additional funds through go fund me!
Please support Tam and her owner by contributing anything you can to help defray Tam’s veterinary costs.
Thank You!
