Tamang database Development Fund: Phase 1

Some programs proposed by Tamang database:
Tamang community is one of Nepal's largest communities of Nepal, with around 6 percent of the total population. However, despite their inhabitancy in the periphery of the nation's capital, the overall community development in terms of literacy, employment, and other development index has been gloomy. Besides, there are alarming problems of younger generation forgetting their language, and not having any platforms to learn the language or know about culture, literature and rich heritages of the community, which are also an asset to the nation,

Though the government has been making some efforts, such efforts have been dismal considering the current intensity of problems. Hence, considering many Tamang people residing in various countries who are keen to do something and help the community, programs that support community will aid in developing community and, in turn, the nation.

Established in 2014, Tamang database is a voluntary social movement that has been organising various programs promoting unity and developing the community with the motto 'my country-my community and my responsibilities'. Uniting around 200,000 people through a digital unity, the group has been working on awareness, education, employment generation, literature, language, unity and community development. The group has already successfully organised various seminars, interactions, constructive discussion including the commencement of "Tamang Knowledge Festival".

Upholding the spirit of the development of linked 200,000 members database plan to forward and organise development programs (in two phases) arranging some funds from core members and collecting others from the well-wishers to materialize the proposed noble plans. We are just facilitators of the good deeds that impact society positively. We plan to create fund of 700,000 to 100,0000 Nepalese rupees (8000 to 12,000 AUD) for the completion of first phase programs.

Programs in brief
1) Organising online language classes & creating a website & digital material to learn Tamang language
2) Revival and update of Tamang e-library and dictionary mobile application
3) Database creation and management of the group
4) Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa Ayog) Exam preparation classes 
5) Discussion, information and interaction program

The estimated budget for the first Phase:  Seven lakhs to ten Lakh Nrs (8000 to 12,000 AUD)

Estimated time frame: 4 to 7 months (Most programs to be started immediately)
Donors name to be published in Tamang database Facebook group and website (unless they wish not to).

Proposed programs in detail: What will be Accomplished (next page)
Program 1: Language/Culture promotion and preservation: Organising online language classes and creating a website and digital material to learn Tamang language.
Details: A website (online school) will be created, including audio-video materials where the learners can learn Tamang language online for free. Considering the need of the trainers, some online classes will be organized through zoom to create trainers. The learning materials created in collaboration with language experts will enable students to learn a language in their convivence and pace and server generations to come.
Benefits: Those who want to learn the Tamang language will help reduce the declining language speakers, eventually promoting and conserving the language. These tasks will be also useful as many Tamang people abroad and Nepal, especially the younger generation, do not have any good platform.
What will be accomplished: Website to learn the language with audio-video learning materials and online classes through zoom.

Program 2- Revival and update of Tamang e-library and dictionary mobile application
Details: The tamangelibrary.com and dictionary mobile app were started to preserve intellectual assets and publications of the community and make such resources available to all for intellectual enrichment, and awareness. Around 300 publications or knowledge heritages were digitalized and published. However, the task has been halted due to lack of human resources and definite program. Despite the immense popularity, the dictionary mobile application could not be updated after the first release. To systematically forward these processes arranging required resources/workforce, a program has been created to digitalize remaining books and update free dictionary mobile applications. A dictionary website will also be created.
Benefits: In this digital era, these programs will help to conserve and promote intellectual property using technology, which will help knowledge creators and community and aid in preserving the community's written history.
What will be accomplished: Digitalization of the books (more than 2000) and updating dictionary mobile app making it more comprehensive.

Program 3: Database creation and management of the group
Details: Around 200,000 Tamang people are already digitally connected through Tamang database, one of the largest digital communities of Nepal. To make the unity more formal and constructive, a database website will be started to collect/share information that is useful for the community creating a digital platform for collaboration and information/knowledge sharing. The actual data maintenance will be commenced.
Benefits: It will help in unity, information/knowledge sharing, interaction/collaboration among Tamang people and community as a whole.
What will be accomplished: Creation of Tamang database website and managing body and resources to manage Tamang database Facebook group making it more active and constructive.

Program 4: Public Service Commission (Lok Sewa Ayog) Exam preparation classes  
Details: Employment is key to the development of any community. Considering the low presence of Tamang people in civil services, some online training programs will be organised for prospective applicants who do not access such resources to encourage applying for various positions. Efforts will be made to create reusable contents which will be helpful for any applicants.
Benefits: This will encourage people to apply for the jobs and also an applicant to prepare better which out being hindered by economic, social and lack of resources problems.
What will be accomplished: Online preparation classes to prepare for civil service exams (the number and frequency will be determined on interest/number of candidates and availability of the fund)

Program 5: Discussion, information and interaction program
Details: Video programs/discussion/interviews/information sessions on various topics related to the community will be organised (live in Tamang database Facebook) and edited programs on YouTube. The aim will be to inform, explore and promote Tamang talents and personalities.
Benefits: Tamang talents promotion, information-awareness on contemporary/historical/cultural/social issues through video programs.
What will be accomplished: Video/Live programs and awareness programs

 The estimated budget for first around seven lakhs to ten Lakh Nrs (8000 to 12,000 AUD)
Estimated time frame: 4 to 7 months (Most programs will be started immediately)

The funds collected in the first phase will be used to complete programs in the first phase. The program's time and size may vary to some extent based on amount and duration funds collected goals are met.

This is fund collection for the first phase programs. After reaching the first phase's goal, creating the trust will be initiated in the second phase starting global fund collection. Such a program will consist of an educational scholarship fund, employment fund. We plan to use the interest (not principal) only in such project launching a long-term program (leaving seed fund intact)

What can you do now?
We are just a facilitator and plan to successfully complete these programs contributing the fund and collecting the fund the well-wishers who want to see program accomplished. Your contribution will help to commence these programs as soon as possible. We expect financial, moral support to complete these programs.
All the contributors' names will be published in the database group and website (useless you mention not to).
Contributors supporting more than 1100 AUD (1 lakh NRP approx) will be included as patron of the fund and programs.
We expect suggestions from you for refinement of the programs and also in the implementation of the programs.
We can definitely bring some positive changes if we work collectively.

नेपालको एक प्रमुख जाति तामाङ करिब १७ लाख र राजधानी वरपर रहे पनि विविध कारणले विकास हुन नसकेको तीतो सत्य हामी माझ छ।विशेष गरी पछिल्लो समय भाषा,सन्क ती ,शिक्षा आदि मा विविध कार्यक्रम हुन नसक्नुका साथै भाषा बिर्सिँदै जाने, नयाँ पुस्ताले भाषा नबोल्ने, सिक्न चाहनेहरूलाई उचित व्यवस्था नहुनु लगायतका विविध समस्याहरू रहेको छ।हुन त राज्य स्तरबाट केही कार्यक्रम भए पनि समस्या र समाधान बिचको दुरी-योजना हेर्दा सक्ने सबैले देश र समुदाय विकासको लागि सकेको योगदान दिनु आवश्यकता देखिन्छ। पछिल्लो समय ठुलो हिस्सा विदेशमा रहेको तर पनि आफ्नो राष्ट्र र समुदायको लागि केही गर्न सदैव तयार रहेको परिपेक्षमा 'कसैले के गरी दिएन वा गरी दिनु पर्‍यो' भन्नु भन्दा पनि सक्नु हुनेहरूले आफै ' म के गर्न सक्छु र मेरो पनि कर्तव्य हो' भनेर निस्स्वार्थ रूपमा जनस्तरबाट पनि केही कार्यक्रमहरू गर्दा अन्त समुदाय र देश विकासमा टेवा पुग्ने देखिन्छ।
तामाङ डाटाबेस  सन् २०१४ देखी 'मेरो देश-समुदाय र मेरो कर्तव्य' र समुदाय विकासबाट राष्ट्र विकासबाट प्रेरित हुँदै स्वयंसेवी तवर बाट तामाङ नेपालीहरू बिच एकता गर्दै आफै बिच समन्वय गरी सम्भव विभिन्न कार्यक्रमहरू गर्दै आएको समूह हो।विशेष गरी फेसबुकमा रहेका करिब २ लाख सदस्य बिच एकता,बहस,सूचना र अन्य कार्यक्रमहरू गरे पनि प्रत्यक्ष रूपमा विशेष गरी शिक्षा, रोजगारी, साहित्य, भाषा, जानकारी मूलक र एकता मूलक कार्यक्रमहरू गर्दै आएका छौ। विभिन्न अन्तरक्रिया,बहस,सेमिनार आयोजना लगायत पहिलो अनलाइन तामाङ शब्दकोश,ई-लाईब्रेरी सञ्चालन लगायत “तामाङ ज्ञान महोत्सव” आयोजना सुरुवात समेत तामाङ  तामाङ डाटाबेसले गरेको थियो।यी लगायत कार्यक्रमलाई निरन्तरता दिँदै र डाटाबेसबाट जोडिनु भएका करिब २ लाख तामाङहरू माझ थप एकता र एकतालाई अझ विस्तृत, व्यापक र प्रभावकारी र केही सिर्जनात्मक फलदायी कार्यमा लगाउने वा वातावरण निर्माण गर्ने उद्देश्यले हामीले चरणवद्द रूपमा केही कार्यक्रमहरूलाई गर्ने निर्णय गरेका छौ।
कार्यक्रम १- तामाङ भाषा संरक्षण र प्रवर्धन- अनलाइन सामाग्री निर्माण र कक्षा सञ्चालन
 बेभसाईट मार्फत तामाङ सिक्ने अनलाइन कक्षाको व्यवस्था गर्ने र भाषा सिक्नको लागि श्रव्य दृश्यको निर्माण गर्ने  र अनलाइन बिद्यालय (online School) को अवधारणामा लगिने।(zoom र website को प्रयोग गरिने)  देश तथा विदेशमा धेरै तामाङहरूले भाषा भुल्दै गएको र सिक्न चाहँदा चाहँदै पनि सिक्ने भरपर्दो सामाग्री र स्रोत नरहेको सन्दर्भमा भाषा सिकाउन सक्ने प्रशिक्षकहरूको निर्माण गर्ने र भाषाबिदहरु सँग समन्वय गरी अनलाइन कक्षाहरूको लागि सामग्री निर्माण गर्ने र कक्षा सञ्चालन गराउने र उपलब्ध गर्ने-गराउने।
उद्देश्य-फाईदा: यसले सबै भाषा सिक्ने चहानेहरुलाई दूरगामी टेवा पुर्याउने छ र भएको अनलाइन सामाग्री अभावलाई समाधान गर्दै भाषा उत्थानमा मद्दत गर्नेछ।
निर्माण-सञ्चालन गरिने कुरा: तामाङ भाषाको कक्षा सञ्चालन गर्न सामाग्री र तामाङ भाषाका कक्षाहरू।

कार्यक्रम २-   ई-लाईब्रेरी र भाषा एप सञ्चालन
तामाङ बौद्धिक सम्पत्तिहरूलाई संरक्षण गर्ने अभिप्रायले संचालित तामाङ ई-लाईब्रेरीलाई पुन सञ्चालन गर्ने र भएका सामाग्रीहरु डिजिटलाईज गर्न बाँकी पुस्तकहरूलाई आवश्यक मेसिन र दिर्ध कालिन रूपमा सञ्चालन हुने बनाउने कर्मचारी ब्यवस्था गरी करिब ६ महिनामा सके सम्म धेरै सामाग्री ई-लाईब्रेरी मार्फत संरक्षण गर्ने र सबैले पढ्न सक्ने गरेर उपलब्ध गराउने। तामाङ शब्दकोश एपलाई अपडेट गर्ने र बेभसाईट मार्फत नयाँ रूपमा उपलब्ध गराउने।
उद्देश्य-फाईदा: बौद्धिक सम्पत्तिहरूलाई संरक्षण र प्रविधि मार्फत जगेर्ना। भाषा विकासको लागि सबैले योगदान दिन सक्ने किसिमले तामाङको शब्दकोशको बेभसाईट निर्माण गरिने
निर्माण-सञ्चालन गरिने कुरा: जनशक्तिको व्यवस्था गरी पुस्तकहरूको डिजिटलाईजेसन गरिने। एपलाई थप बृहत् बनाइने।

कार्यक्रम ३- डाटाबेस निर्माण तथा संचालन
तामाङहरूको बृहत् चौतारी र सूचना मञ्च तामाङ डाटाबेस करिब २ लाख तामाङहरूलाई एकै ठाउँ ल्याएर एकता,बिचार-विमर्श र विकासको लागि कार्य गरिरहेको सन्दर्भमा यसलाई थप व्यवस्थित पार्न  www.tamangdatabase.com मार्फत थप प्रयास गर्ने र फेसबुकमा रहेको ग्रुपलाई समेत थप ब्यवस्थित गर्न जनशक्तिको व्यवस्था गर्ने। अनलाइन मार्फत जनचेतनाका सामाग्रीहरू प्रवाह गर्ने।

कार्यक्रम ४- नि-शुल्क लोक सेवा तयारी कार्यक्रम-
समुदाय विकासको मुख्य आधार भनेको शिक्षा र रोजगारी हुने कुरालाई ध्यानमा राख्दै, तामाङको लोक सेवामा थप पहुँच पुर्‍याउन, अनलाइन जुम मार्फत लोक सेवाको कक्षा गर्ने र सम्भव भए सम्ममा सामाग्री बनाई उपलब्ध गराइने।
उद्देश्य-फाईदा: यसले निकै कम रहेको तामाङहरूको सरकारी सेवामा सहभागिता जनाउन वा बढाउन मद्दत पुग्नेछ।साथै आर्थिक कारणले तयारी कक्षा गर्न नसकिएकाहरू लाई समेत मद्दत पुर्‍याउने छ।
निर्माण-सञ्चालन गरिने कुरा: अनलाइन मार्फत लोक सेवा तयारी कार्यक्रम।

कार्यक्रमम ५: बहस र सूचना मूलक कार्यक्रम-
करिब संसारभर छरिएर तामाङहरु विभिन्न प्रतिभा,व्यवसाय,विज्ञ आदि भएर काम गरिरहनु भएको सन्दर्भमा त्यस्ता तामाङहरूलाई समेटेर सूचनामूलक कार्यक्रम वा अन्तरवार्ताहरू गर्ने। फेसबुक लाइभ र युट्युब कार्यक्रम मार्फत सञ्चालन गरिने
उद्देश्य-फाईदा: यसले समसामयिक र दूरगामी असर पार्ने बिचार र सूचना सम्प्रेषणको काम मात्र नगरेर अन्य तामाङ प्रतिभाहरूको पहिचान र प्रवर्धनमा समेत मद्दत पुर्याएर अन्ततः एकता र विकासमा मद्दत पुर्याउने छ।
निर्माण-सञ्चालन गरिने कुरा:  सञ्चालक र सम्पादन (प्राबिधिक समेत)को व्यवस्था गरी बहस र बिचार विमर्श कार्यक्रम (युट्युब मार्फत)

पहिलो चरण कुल अनुमानित खर्च- रु ७ लाख-१० लाख  (८ हजार देखी १२ हजार अष्ट्रेलियन डलर),
अनुमानित समय: ३ देखी ७ महिना
नोट केही कार्यक्रमहरूको आकार, उद्देश्य, सहभागी सङ्ख्या सङ्कलित रकमको आधारमा केही माथि सम्म लाने उद्देश्यका कारण कममा ७ लाख र बढीमा १० लाख अनुमानित गरिएको छ।)
पहिलो चरण स्रोत व्यवस्था सँगै दोस्रो चरणको लागि विश्वब्यापी रुपमा आर्थिक सङकलन सुरु गरिने छ। दोस्रो चरणबाट कोषको रूपमा विकास गर्दै जड सम्पत्ति खर्च नगरी ब्याज मार्फत कार्यक्रमहरू सञ्चालन गर्ने अवधारणा बनाइएको छ।

दोस्रो चरणमा शैक्षिक र रोजगारी कोषका लागि कार्य अगाडि बढाईनेछ।

प्रथम चरणको लागि डाटाबेस वाट आफै सहयोग गरेर र निकट शुभचिन्तकहरूबाट सहयोग सङ्कलन गरी सम्भव यी तामाङ समुदायलाई हित पुर्याउने कार्यक्रमहरु सुरु गरी हाल्ने रणनीति अनुरूप तपाईँलाई यो योजना पत्र पठाइएको छ। कार्यक्रमहरूलाई द्रुत गतिमा अगाडि बढाउन यसले मद्दत गर्नेछ।

यो पहिलो चरणका कार्यक्रमहरु सम्पन्न गर्नको सन्चालित सहयोग कार्यक्रम हो। तसर्थ पहिलो चरणको   बजेट लक्ष प्राप्तिको लागि तपाई बाट सक्दो आर्थिक,नैतिक सहयोगको अपेक्षा गरिएको छ।
पहिलो चरणका लागि सहयोग गर्ने सबैको नाम विशेष रूपमा डाटाबेस ग्रुप र बेभसाईटमा प्रकाशित गरिनेछ।
१ लाख भन्दा बढी एकमुष्ट सहयोग गर्नु हुनेलाई  कार्यक्रमहरूको संरक्षकको रूपमा राखिनेछ।
डाटाबेसको निकट शुभचिन्तकका रूपमा अन्य सल्लाह सुझावको अपेक्षा गरेका छौ। पछि गरिने कार्यहरूमा समेत निरन्तर सुझाव,सल्लाह अपेक्षा गर्दछौ।
हामी सबै मिलेर गरे केही परिवर्तन अवश्य हुन सक्ने र सबै अगाडि बढेर टाढा बसेरै पनि समुदाय र राष्ट्र विकासको लागि केही गर्ने अवसरमा नैतिक,आर्थिक सबै किसिमको सहयोगको अपेक्षा गरेका छौ।
