Our friend, Tamara Mark, lives with her two sons, Ian, 21, and Harry, 18. They both have severe nonverbal autism which means they each need someone watching over them 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Tamara handles her situation with love, expertise, fortitude and joy, but our Tamara is at a breaking point.
Her immediate problem is her son, Harry, who is going through a crisis. When his routine is disrupted his anxiety reaches great heights of anguish and therefore his behavior becomes explosive and erratic, and he is extremely difficult to handle. We are hoping that in correcting his medication he will come through this crisis to a place of peace.
But for now, we are organizing this Go Fund Me fundraiser so Tamara will have money to get the extra help she desperately needs as she goes through this crisis with Harry.
