Tami Voshell...a Warrior
Donation protected
My name is Kaitlyn Monck and I am Tami's niece (maybe the favorite...who knows). My family and I have been experiencing the overwhelming support that has come from so many of you to them during this crazy time. You have demonstrated your love and support through preparing meals for Bryan and the kids while Tami has been in the hospital this past month, sending gas and food cards to the hospital, continued kind messages and thoughtful gifts to the entire family, and prayers that have overwhelmed them with God's presence in the midst of all of this.
You have been warriors. Continuing to be the light in the dark times for them. Your efforts and kindness mean so much to them, especially in the ways you have reached out to their kids, and made sure that they are as 'okay' as can be amidst all of this craziness. Your love has blown them all away and reminded them of the incredible village that they get to journey alongside.
So many of you are reaching out wanting to know ways in which you can further provide support and assistance, and looking at the whole situation as we know it, we thought it might be best at this point to open the option of giving the family financial support. As you may or may not know, there are a lot of unforeseeable costs associated with going through treatments. Being away from family has been difficult, but it is also forcing Tami to take a break from her students and teaching as well. We don't yet know how long she will be required to be out of work, as well as how much of that time will be able to be covered financially. She will receive some of her salary initially, but there will be some burden out of that to cover the costs of long-term sub-placement, along with even greater expenses that could further impact long-term income - depending on how long recovery takes and ultimately when she can return to the classroom. Things are fluid right now with time frames as long as 1-2 years for recovery, which will definitely not all be covered. We just don't know the whole picture yet. What we do know as of now, is that there is about a $15-20,000 deficit between now and August...this is where we are asking for continued support.
Finances are tight for everyone right now, and they are not expecting financial support. However, if you are looking for a more tangible way to help them - whether it be $1, $5, or some donation of your choosing - my family thought that this might be another cool avenue to allow you to show your continued support to Tami, Bryan and the kids through a Go Fund Me account.
This journey is not the sprint that they were hoping for, but a marathon that they are prepared to conquer. The continued generosity and love you are all showing continues to make the dark days brighter, and we are hoping that this can be an avenue where you can give the support you feel called to give as we take this fight with them one day at a time.
