Tamika's Story: Road to healing
Donation protected
Hi my name is Gwen. I am a 68 year old grandmother trying desperately to make sure my daughter, Tamika, and grandkids keep their home, pay for doctor's visits, and pay for seizure medications. Tamika has a college degree but was only able to work for a little while but due to severe carpal tunnel, hip injuries, and degenerative arthritis, she could not continue working. She now receives disability and eventually became a single parent of 3 children. They lost the only father they've ever known a few years ago. Then the Pandemic hit. As a result, they all went into a deep depression. They also began having long term health issues after having COVID-19. Tamika's 2 older children have violent seizures, and right now no health insurance. They've had several visits to the hospital. The medications and doctor's visits are expensive. Hopefully insurance will be available soon. They're trying to get help through the local agencies, but the process takes some time. We realize they are trying to help a lot of people and sometimes the resources may not be available. It's been difficult to handle bills and try to get their medications. Tamika's youngest daughter has an eye condition that diminishes her vision and severe asthma. She tries to donate plasma to help but she is in school. They try to make deliveries. This is helpful but not very profitable. They don't have nearly enough to live on every month...especially due to inflation. We've tried to go to agencies and churches for help but we understand they try to help many people. Sometimes they don't have the resources available. The donations will help with seizure medications, rent, doctor's visits, and therapy sessions.
I am leaning on my faith in God. I pray for them everyday. If there are parents or Grandparents that see this please help because I know you know what I'm going through. Please help any way you can. Nothing is too small. I know times are very rough and hard for everyone, and my family is no different. I just want them to be successful, healthy, stable, and happy. Please donate if you can or share as much as possible. Thank you for reading our story.
