Tamm family new beginnings

Hi all,

I'm Bec, one of Whitney and Matt's longtime friends.

As most of you know Rosie and Lottie arrived 2 years ago in a super hurry, coming out at 26 weeks. It has been an absolute whirlwind since then and Whit and Matt, with the support of amazing friends, family, carers, therapists, doctors and nurses, have tried really hard to make life in Karratha still work for their little family. Unfortunately with the medical complexity of the girls who both have Hydrocephalus, cerebral palsy and chronic lung disease and Lottie also having epilepsy and limited vision due to CVI (a brain based vision impairment), reality hit in early February when Rosie had a major shunt failure whilst on holidays in Albany. She was elevated to number one priority in the state and flown to PCH to have emergency surgery to repair her shunt and relieve the pressure on her brain. Due to the distance from Perth and the medical services available in Karratha, Rosie's shunts scare would not have ended so well if they had been at home.

They have made the decision to move to Albany to be closer to the medical services the girls need which was easy in the sense the girls health and well-being needed this, but they are also leaving behind a community and life they love.

We are doing a Go Fund me as a new beginnings farewell gift to help the family create an accessible, inclusive and fun space for the girls to engage in play and fun activities.

If funds allow, anything extra will go towards early intervention Physiotherapy Intensives that will help give the girls the best possible start during a time of peak brain growth.

Rosie and Lottie have shown massive amounts of resilience the past two years. Let's help set them up in their new home so they can keep kicking goals!
