About a year ago, my sister-in-law Tammy Corrigan, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She did months of chemo, underwent a double mastectomy and radiation treatment. Shortly before Christmas, she received the best news ever, she was cancer free and in remission! Unfortunately, about a month later, she started experiencing really bad headaches and dizzy spells which landed her in and out of the hospital. Within 2 months of being “cancer free” she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer that had metastasized to the fluid and tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This is known as Leptomeningeal Disease, for which there is no cure! Tammy continues to fight and receive treatment, she has been in and out of the hospital weekly.
Tammy is a loving wife, daughter, sister, and most importantly, a mother of three children, and a friend to anyone who meets her. She is truly one of the kindest, sweetest, and most loving people I know.
As a result of this most recent diagnosis, Tammy was unable to return to work and does not have enough sick days to make it to the end of the school year. Tammy never asks for help from anyone and even during her worst moments, she asks about others and how they are doing.
Since rainy day funds never prepare us for something like this, I'm reaching out to you, her friends and family, for help. It would be great if we could rally together to raise funds that will help the family cover some of the extraordinary expenses associated with her illness. If you are unable to make a monetary donation, I ask that you keep Tammy & her family in your prayers!
