Hello, my name is Wendy, Tammy’s sister. Tammy is full of pride and required some (LOTS) of coaxing to allow me to create this fund page, but she is SO deserving! If you plan to give this Christmas season we ask you to consider sharing your festive generosity to help out a beautiful, deserving soul.

 

Tammy was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer referred to as "triple negative" or "Her2" negative in November 2018. In January 2019 she began an aggressive and long road through treatment enduring a year and a half of treatment including weekly chemotherapy, surgery (lumpectomy - removal of tumor in the breast, lymphadenectomy removal of lymph nodes and breast reduction), daily radiation, more pokes, needles and prods than you can ever imagine and post treatment stabilization chemotherapy from January 2019 - May 2021. During Tammy's treatment she endured hours of infusions, multiple blood transfusions, surgery and recovery, broken rib from the radiation, multiple hospital stays, weeks of nausea, weakness, and breathlessness. While Tammy was still under treatment in April 2021 she was reporting pain that after a long 3 months later was diagnosed as a return of the cancer, same type, same breast, stage 4 return. Tammy endured a full bi-lateral maesrtectromy and lymphadenectomy on August 17th of which she is still recovering from with an open incision wound that required daily treatment and is now at 3x week treatment from a wound care visiting nurse. Tammy is currently enduring 4 months of weekly chemotherapy treatment and a year of immunotherapy treatment to beat this beast! SHE IS FIGHTING SO HARD TO LIVE!!! Tammy has been a hard worker all her life, working since she was a teen and worked hard to raise 3 beautiful daughters and 9 beautiful grandchildren. Tammy had to take a leave from working when her treatment began in Jan 2019 and has been out on leave since except for a short period she was able to return to work just before the 2nd cancer diagnosis.  Being out of work and in cancer treatment for almost of 3 years Tammy has exhausted her savings to cover living expenses and medical bills - all of which she does not qualify for ANY government assistance and was recently denied disability benefits from our government - although she is physically not able to work, relying on a cane to walk, extreme shortness of/inability to breath, extremely weak and requiring 3x week nurse care, 1x week bloodwork and 1x week 5 hour infusion - the government believes she can work and doesn't qualify. We WILL be appealing!
