Tammy Marino Funeral and Memorial

Tammy (Abeln) Marino, graduate of Brookfield R-3 class of 2004 was the daughter of Richard Abeln and the late Sue Abeln. She was a wife to Joe Marino and a mother to two boys Tristan, 11 and Chandler, 7.
On April 10th, Tammy was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) at KU where she had been fighting for her life. She fell and tore some ligaments on her ankle on March 9th. An MRI revealed that the injury required surgery intervention. Tammy had surgery on March 14th, a splint was applied then shortly after a cast.
During her recovery, Tammy’s injury took a turn for the worst. She was experiencing blood clots which traveled to her lungs and caused her to go into Cardiac Arrest at her home on April 9th. She was rushed to the hospital and then transferred to KU where she had been under the care of great health professionals. It is with deep regret to announce that Tammy lost her battle on 5/1/18.
How can you help?
Tammy’s family needs your prayers and financial support. Her husband Joe has been balancing work, caring for their 2 boys, and spent a lot of time by Tammy’s side as her recovery chances were unknown. ANY amount you are able to contribute is deeply appreciated and will be very helpful to her family in covering funeral and medical expenses. A memorial fund for the future of her two boys will also be set up. Please help support Tammy’s family as they prepare her farewell and begin their road to recovery.
