Tammy O'Neal's Battle to Beat Cancer (Again!)

Hello! My name is Mackenzie O'Neal, daughter of Tammy O'Neal. For those of you who know my mother, she is extremely selfless, caring, loving, dependable, unbelievably strong, and always puts her friends, family, and children before herself.

Tammy went for her very first colonoscopy screening just a few weeks ago since they lowered the age, and unfortunately, they found cancer. Thankfully her GI and surgeon rushed the results and surgery, and everything happened within weeks. The tumor they found was small, so we are hopeful and praying the lymph nodes do not come back positive, so she doesn't have to undergo chemotherapy.

Her surgery to remove the tumor and biopsy the lymph nodes was on August 11. She was hospitalized for two days and is now thankfully home in the care of my brothers and father. She is projected to be out of work for 6-10 weeks, unable to lift more than five pounds. For those of you who know Tammy, this will drive her nuts not being able to be as active as she usually is and do all of her usual daily activities for this extended period.

My parents have gone above and beyond to provide for their three children, Connor, Hunter, and myself. But, having a daughter in college and playing soccer at the collegiate level, one son playing Junior hockey for the Milwaukee Power, and another son in high school and playing hockey at the AAA level, they have had to sacrifice a lot. The expenses of the hospital stays, surgeries, health screenings and scans, and being out of work for that long will take a toll on anyone. So, I wanted to start this fundraiser in hopes of giving back to my parents and helping out during this very tough time for my mom, medically and financially.

My mother has beat cancer once before; I know she can do it again.
