Dear friends and family and viewers near and far,
My name is Jackie Bushnell and I’m the mother of Tammy Patterson.
It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news of my daughter Tammy's passing. Tammy fought bravely against lupus and a rare disease called A typical HUS, which ravaged her body and led to countless surgeries and treatments. Despite her incredible strength and resilience, Tammy's condition continued to worsen, and she passed away on March 18th, 2023.
Tammy was an incredibly determined person, and she never let her illnesses stop her from pursuing her dreams. Even while on life support, she was determined to receive her degree in business management and fashion. And so, in a touching moment, Tammy was awarded her honorary degree at her hospital bedside, surrounded by family and loved ones.
During Tammy's six months in the hospital, I was by her side every day, doing everything I could to support her and advocate for her care. But the medical bills quickly piled up, and I found myself struggling to keep up with the costs of her treatments. And now, after months of not working to care for Tammy, I am faced with the daunting task of burying my precious daughter.
Tammy was a generous and kind-hearted person who was passionate about giving back to others. In her memory, I have started a foundation and scholarship to support disabled students who are committed to continuing their education, no matter their circumstances.
I'm reaching out to you now with a heavy heart, asking for your help in covering Tammy's medical bills and burial expenses. Any amount you can contribute would be greatly appreciated and will go towards honoring Tammy's memory and legacy. Even the smallest donation can make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and thank you for any support you can offer during this difficult time."
