Tammy, Penelope and Isadora Survival Fund
Donation protected
Family and friends I am reaching out to you about my dear friend Tammy G and her family.
They are facing homelessness.
Tammy and her two daughters Isadora 4yrs old and Penelope 5yrs old have survived domestic violence, abandonment, repossession of their Van and are facing eviction from their home within days, due to her husband.
What I have to share with you about Tammy is she is probably the most resourceful person I know, and she has exhausted every resource from shelters which she is on a waiting list (because they are full) to getting aid to feed her family and even getting her van up and running from a nonprofit to only get repossessed because she was trying to make payment arrangements. Her husband who never wanted her to work, even though she wanted to, has cut her off financially at the beginning of the year. She is hanging on by a thread trying to emotionally keep it together.
What the funds will be used for first is to try to find a place to stay, so they would not be on the street, even temporarily like a motel until she gets a job (which she currently has been applying for). Get her van out of dealer impound and catch up on payments or pay it off in full and at the moment pay for a storage for their clothes and important belongings.
The turning point of desperation came for me when she started sharing the abuse in her household with me. It progressively got worse. Not realizing that her husband had moved on with another woman (who is currently his fiancé, and he’s not even divorced yet) and then he got up one day, and left her and her daughters with nothing, no financial support, nor transportation. She is now riding the bus (2 to 3) daily for hours a day to get her daughters to school and back. The toll it’s taking on Tammy and the girls is unbearable.
Any donation large, or small would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your support.
