Update (February 21, 2024) 8:15 am
It is with heavy heart I share this message from Kevin, Tammy's husband.
Tammy has passed this morning at 8:15 am she will be sorely missed. Thank you, each of you for all you've done to support our family.
I would like to continue to thank you for your thoughts, prayers, kindness, and love for a family you know or may not. Our world may seem crazy these days but somehow as humans we continue to care for one another at another level that no amount of strife can destroy. Please continue to share this message and help even the smallest amount. This is a difficult time and financial burdens will only make things worse.
Again, thank you.
Update: Thanks to Jessica, Tammy's daughter.
"She was transferred over into hospice care 3 days ago, me and my dad went and seen her last night and she’s completely swelled up, she hasn’t moved a bone and they also told us her kidneys are shutting down, they are just keeping her medicated as much as possible and trying to keep her comfortable until she goes we don’t think it will be long because her organs are starting to shut down."
Taken from Tammy's facebook and edited slightly for clarification...
"I would like to share the update about Tammy Ross This is her aunt. Saturday morning, Tammy collapsed on the kitchen floor. The paramedics worked with Tammy for over 30 minutes. They have removed the last support on her. Now she is with hospice keep her family in your payers and thoughts."
Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things any person can experience. It is a gut-wrenching and emotionally-draining process that no one should ever have to go through. It is especially difficult when the loved one is watching their family, friends, and loved ones have to sit and watch them slowly pass away. Unfortunately, this is the reality for my husband's friend, Kevin, and his two children as they watch their beloved wife and mother, Tammy, lay in wait.
As I hear the sorrow in Kevin's voice when he talks to my husband about the pain he is going through, my heart breaks for him and his children. I can only imagine the immense pain and heartache they are feeling as they watch their loved one slip away. It is a helpless feeling, knowing that there is nothing you can do to stop the inevitable.
But even in the midst of such a heartbreaking situation, Kevin and his family have decided to make a selfless and courageous decision. They have made the difficult choice to harvest her organs to fulfill the dreams of as many recipients as possible. It is a decision that takes strength and bravery, and it is the least Kevin feels he can do, and now has the opportunity to give through organ donation.
As I learn about Kevin's selfless act, I can't help but think, what can we do to help him and his family during this difficult time? How can we show our support and honor Tammy's life and legacy?
That's where I believe we can make a difference. Let's come together as friends, family and community and do our most for Kevin and his children. Let's raise some money in honor of Tammy's life and give her a proper goodbye. Let's show them that they are not alone in this difficult journey, and their friends, family and community are there to support them.
Organ donation is a gift of life, and Kevin's selfless decision to give that gift to others should not go unnoticed. It is our chance to honor and celebrate her life, while also supporting her loved ones in their time of need.
So I urge you, let's do our most for Kevin and his children. Let's come together and show them our love, support, and gratitude for their selfless act during such a difficult time. Let's make a difference and honor Tammy's life in the most meaningful way possible.
