Tammy Valverde House Fire - Emergency Fund
On December 6, Tammy Valverde lost her home to an unexpected house fire. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire. We are reaching out to the community to ask for help in any way possible. Victims of fires face tremendous costs, and we hope this fund will help alleviate some of the burden Tammy faces. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Before the fire, Tammy made her home there her entire adult life. She hopes to rebuild with the aid of neighbors, friends, and family. Volunteers have offered to demolish the ruins, clear the site, and provide labor to rebuild. Donations are sought to fund the necessary building materials for a small house where she may live comfortably.
The fire destroyed the living room and upper bedroom in what was one of Todd County's oldest residences, a single bay log cabin. It also gutted the bedroom and kitchen in the cabin's attached addition. All of the furnishings and most of the home's contents were lost.
Through the heroic efforts of firefighters from the surrounding area the fire was extinguished and a few of Tammy's personal items have been saved. Her wish is to someday return to the place where her grandmother once lived and where she lived with her late husband when they started their family over 40 years ago.
Funds from this campaign will be withdrawn on behalf of Tammy by Jo Violette, Tammy's sister. All donations withdrawn by Jo will go directly to rebuilding Tammy's house.
