Tammy's Double Lung Transplant Journey

Praying for a Miracle
At age 52, our mother, Tammy Ramsden Ecker, was diagnosed with COPD and has been fully oxygen dependent for quite some time. Today, she is facing End Stage COPD, which has no cure. We are praying for a miracle.
By the grace of God, she has been approved for a double lung transplant, but we need your help now more than ever to get through this next phase of life with our Mom. This journey has been filled with countless hospitalizations, ICU visits, lung exacerbations, surgical procedures, rehabilitations, medications and breathing treatments.
Our family needs help funding some of these costs. The transplant alone will require a minimum of a 3 week hospitalization. Additionally, there will be the costs of copays, deductibles, post-transplant medical care, anti-rejection medications, supplies, and at home care.
Following the procedure, she needs to be seen three times a week at UT Southwestern Dallas for additional follow-up care. Our family is pulling together as much as we can, but we still need help to cover the costs of medical bills, meds, gas, food and lodging during this time. This will be a very long journey, but we believe that with the help of friends, our extended family and strangers, we can see this through.
Mom wants to be able to enjoy life again and be with us for as long as she can. Not only is she a mother, but also a beloved significant other, grandma, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Thank you for your love and support. Anything you can offer to support our Mom, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
