Tammy’s Quest for a deep breath!

Hi my name is Nikki and I have set up this GoFund me page for my darling mother and best friend, Tammy (Dunham) Stewart. Original roots from Point Edward, Ontario - a true point girl - now residing in Ardrossan, Alberta.

Tammy is a loving mother and grandmother. A devoted fiancé, a baby sister, a cherished aunt and a loyal friend. My moms kind actions, witty humour, and pure heart are what her family and friends think of her.

Tam was a hard working woman, always on the go and would lend a hand whenever needed. Unfortunately, her illness no longer makes that possible for her to do so. My mom was forced to retire in December 2021 when the unimaginable happened.

Very grateful to be alive….she lives day to day limited, full of uncertainty and on oxygen 24/7.

Tammy has been diagnosed with end of life severe emphysema and a double lung transplant is her only alternative.

It hasn’t been an easy journey so far…one we’re too familiar with… but she holds onto hope everyday for this life changing surgery.

Although there is still a long road ahead… my mom is looking forward to a healthy, happy, more fulfilled life after her transplant.

My goal for this page is to hopefully relieve some of the financial burdens that have now become her reality. Although the transplant procedure is covered through Alberta Health Care, some of the associated costs for accommodations, medications, and long-term care she may need, are not fully covered.

We cannot thank you enough for your prayers and kind words of encouragement that continuously uplift Tammy through this season. Please, continue to pray for our mother.
