Tana’s bone marrow transplant in Baltimore
Donation protected
We're rallying around Tana Dagenhart as she faces the toughest battle of her life - a grueling fight against cancer. Tana's journey has been marked by incredible resilience and selflessness, but now she needs our support more than ever.
If you know Paula and Tana, then you know they are the most selfless and caring people in the world. During these past horrific few years, they have asked for nothing but are always reaching out to others who may be in need. These two are definitely people who literally would give you the shirt off their backs.
In March 2021, Tana was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She bravely underwent rounds of chemotherapy at the University of Maryland Hospital, with her devoted mother, Paula, by her side every step of the way. After about a year of treatment, Tana achieved remission and embarked on a new career path as a cardiac monitor technician, eager to give back to others.
However, their trials didn't end there. In January 2022, Paula contracted COVID-19 and faced a critical battle of her own, spending 2 weeks on a ventilator and and now grappling with the lingering effects of "long COVID,” including debilitating migraine headaches and erratic blood pressure.
Now, Tana is preparing for a bone marrow transplant at the University of Maryland Hospital in mid-March. This procedure will require a 7-week hospital stay followed by an extended 6-week period of treatment in Baltimore. As Tana fights for her life, Paula will be her caretaker, as she is never to be alone during this time for safety.
We're reaching out to our community for help. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference in Tana's journey towards healing. If you're unable to contribute financially, please consider sharing this fundraiser and sending your love and prayers to Tana and Paula.
Together, we can provide the support and strength they need to face this battle head-on. Thank you for standing with Tana and Paula during this difficult time.
