Tandem Trekkers does 100 mph
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. Tandem Trekkers plan to do 100 miles in an hour around the Leeds Road athletics track (Address: Leeds Road Playing Fields, Leeds Road, Huddersfield HD2 1YY) on Saturday 2nd September.
Tandems will be circulating the track a total of 400 times, the equivalent of 100 miles, between 930 and 10:30 am.
The crews will consist of our normally sighted pilots (front rider) teamed up with blind and partially sighted stokers (rear rider).
The aim of the ride is to provide much-needed funds for our tandem club. We have running costs approaching £7000 per year in order to provide tandem rides every weekend between the start of March and the end of November for our 80 members. We can take a maximum of 15 tandems on each ride.
You can come along and cheer us on the day if you want.
Please feel free to click on the link below in order to sponsor our challenge. Anything that you can give will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks
