Taneille Crase: Road to 2023 World Championships

Donation protected
Meet Taneille Crase - Commonwealth Games Heptathlon representative 2022, Australian and Oceania Heptathlon champion 2021 & 2022, Little Athletics Ambassador 2022-23 and school athletics coach & teacher.

Last year, Taneille competed at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, where she had a fantastic competition finishing 5th place with 6026 points.

To put this into perspective, Taneille is currently ranked in the top 24 in the World Athletics Ranking list for the Heptathlon AND this is ranked the 7th best performance on the Australian All-Time list AND ONLY TWO heptathletes have scored over 6000 points in the last 20 years!

Taneille's athletics journey continues as she hopes to qualify for the World Championships in Budapest in August 2023 & the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

Taneille has been noticed on the international stage. Ranked in the top 24 in the world, her current performances have secured an invitation to two highly-ranked international competitions in Europe plus an invitation to train in Germany with other elite athletes during June! These events are:
- Hypo-Meeting Gotzis, Austria, 27th-28th May 2023
- Stadtwerke Ratingen Mehrkampf-Meeting, Germany, 17th-18th June 2023

Taneille is super excited to be competing at these World Class competitions. Gotzis is considered the ultimate multi-event competition to attend outside of the Olympics and World Championships. This will be an amazing experience to compete alongside the best in the world and improve on her world rankings to boost her chances to qualify for the World Championships and the Paris Olympic Games.

However we need your help, being a lone athlete is costly.

Taneille is currently working as a school teacher part-time but will be taking time off work to train and compete in Europe at these important competitions. She is not a sponsored athlete, nor does she receive any funding from her sporting body, so we are fully funding ourselves and coach, the amazing Glynis Nunn, to travel to Europe and compete at these high-level competitions to achieve her goals.

We are extremely grateful for any donations to support Taneille's athletic journey. These are some of the expenses for travelling and competing overseas:
  • Flights, Insurance & Gear Transport: $4,000 (+ coaches airfare, insurance and accommodation etc)
  • Accommodation & Food: $5,000
  • Car Hire / Train Tickets: $1,500
  • Any excess funds will be used for ongoing training purposes (track fees, coach fees, gym fees), physiotherapy treatments, training clothes and performance shoes / equipment.

What is Hepthalaon you ask?
This is the women’s ultimate all-round test, a seven-event contest covering a range of track & field events across a two-day programme.
  • The first day consists of (in order): 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200m.
  • Day two comprises the long jump, javelin and 800m.
Competitors earn points for their performance in each discipline and the overall winner is the athlete who scores the most points.

Thank you so much for your support!
