Tani Wilder Bell’s Brain Cancer Treatment & Rehab
Donation protected
My name is Kristin; this request is on behalf of the children (Teagan, Alex, Bailey and Jake) of my childhood BFF Tani Wilder Bell, who is currently in the ICU of a local hospital. After several months of not feeling well, battling pneumonia and needing oxygen for weeks. As well as seeing several doctors hoping to find the cause of debilitating headaches that kept her from doing everyday things, we took Tani to the emergency room because the pain became more than she could handle. Once there, and after going through numerous tests and scans, they discovered she had a brain tumor, which she will undergo surgery in the coming days. Because it is unknown the type of tumor it is until it is surgically removed, we are taking all possible scenarios into account and working to make sure she gets the best care possible. The neurosurgeon team is working diligently to determine the best plan to remove the tumor and get her on the road to recovery. Including brain function rehabilitation following surgery and arranging for any additional care or treatments she may need to get through this devastating medical situation.
As to be expected, this hit Tani and her family hard. If you know Tani, not only is she a kind and caring human, she is also a very independent and strong-willed woman who just muscles through hard things and gets through them. (In fact, she currently impresses the ICU nurses with her strength and determination) But right now, she could use strength and support from her family and friends. Although her insurance will help with the medical costs, she will still be inundated with large bills that she will be responsible for covering along with her household expenses such as rent and utilities as she recovers. She is a single mom with her youngest still at home. Should she need to transition temporarily to disability status with her employment during the recovery and rehabilitation time, it may affect her income. This will all add up quickly. We all want Tani to focus on healing, so we are hoping to raise some extra money to lessen the financial burden this will create for her. We also understand that some may not be able to donate in a monetary means, but we welcome positive vibes and energy and would appreciate it if you held her in your thoughts and prayers as she goes through surgery and recovery. Thank you!
