Tanner Mize

My name is Geoff Finley, and I am close family friends with Charlie and Kelli Mize. I reached out  to Charlie and Kelli and have received their blessing to share Tanner's story, with the hope that any help received for Tanner would positively impact and facilitate his recovery.

 

On Tuesday, April 26th, Tanner, son of Charlie and Kelli Mize, was involved in a multi-vehicle, high-impact vehicle crash in Arlington, Tx. Tanner experienced significant closed head trauma and has been in ICU for over a week. His prognosis at this point is uncertain and the path to recovery will be a long one. The Mize family are people of faith and have been encouraged and strengthened by the love, prayers, and support they have received in the days following this incident. Continue to pray for hope, healing, strength, and endurance for Tanner and his loved ones...I'll say that again, please keep praying.

 

If you know the Mize family, then you know how caring and giving they are to those that come into their orbit, even if it’s for a short time. My own family has been incredibly blessed and forever changed by their giving spirit and acts of genuine love. One of my little boys came to me three years ago and asked if Uncle Charlie was his real Uncle. I asked him what he thought, and without hesitation, he said yes. That’s emblematic of the love and support that the Mize’s display in their lives and to those around them.

 

A number of people have reached out to me and asked what they could do and where they could donate to help out the Mize family. Many of us are parents and it’s not hard to imagine facing a similar trial. The word daunting doesn’t even seem appropriate to capture the scope of the challenges that lay ahead. As mentioned previously, this family is accustomed to giving and not receiving, but they have been overwhelmed by the love and generosity of spirit of those around them. They understand that those that want to help are wanting to return the love that they’ve received from the Mize Family for so many years.

 

Any donations made will go to help with direct and associated costs related to Tanner's rehabilitation and recovery.
