Tanya - Guillain-Barre Syndrome
Donation protected
One of our wonderful swim moms, Tanya Rutledge, was recently diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Guillain-Barré is a rare nerve disorder that occurs when the body's own defences (immune system) attack part of the nervous system. It causes muscle weakness, loss of reflexes, and numbness or tingling in your arms, legs, face, and other parts of your body.
Tanya received treatment at the hospital last week and the doctors have told her it might be 2 months or longer before she’s strong enough to return to work and all her regular activities.
Tanya's gone out of her way to help our swimmers and parents, and now it's our turn to help her. You can show your support by making a donation to help with meals, therapy, home medical equipment, housekeeping, personal support care, and whatever else Tanya and her family need.
Let’s all wish Tanya a successful, speedy recovery!
Thank you.
