Tanya Mckay's 6 children- their future; education, sports

My name is Rubina Waterhouse and I have had the great honour of being welcome into the home of the beautiful McKay family for a number of years. 6 beautiful children lost their mother after a devastatingly short and valiant battle with cancer. Tanya McKay waged her war with cancer while still mourning the loss of her brother who lost his life in a tragic workplace accident. Tanya McKay was the most loving and nurturing mother. She loved being a mother. She celebrated each characteristic and uniqueness of each child and laughed with such exuberance when you would tell her a funny tale about what one of her children had done at school. It's as though she could relive the story in her mind because she knew her child so well that she could see her child doing it in her mind. Being a mother was her greatest joy in life. When Tanya found out that she had cancer, it was her children that she began planning for immediately. Every single thing she did was for them. Her parents have honored her requests and plans and have moved to Kelowna to care for her 6 children. I would like to see our amazing community of people continue to honor Tanya by caring for her children. It is in times like this that we come together as a community and wrap around supports. Tanya's children will need resources in the upcoming months. Tanya's parents are struggling with the loss of their daughter as well as their son, who died in the tragic crane accident in 2021. They have left their home and jobs in Edmonton to care for 6 children here in Kelowna as per Tanya's wishes.

I have started this go fund me to make sure the children are provided for and that the family does not have to have a large burden to bear. Tanya was an amazing mother, sister, daughter, and wife. She would want nothing more than to have her children cared for and for her parents not to struggle any more than they have had to already with the loss of her brother and her.
