Tanya Zebroski’s Care and End of Life Care

Donation protected
Hi Friends and family,
I am Megan Exley, Tanya’s oldest daughter and many of you know mom was diagnosed with breast cancer back in March of 2021 and overcome that part of her journey. On November 22, 2023 I had taken her to the ER and our entire world flipped upside down.

Mom was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer which had aggressively and quickly spread to her brain, spine, lung, and liver. Mom was hospitalized for about two weeks and had a lung biopsy that confirmed the cancer, and fluid drained off the brain. When mom was released she did 10 days of all over brain radiation, liver biopsy, and vertebroplasty to help the fracture in her spine from the cancer. We are so blessed that we were able to celebrate Christmas together and have family pictures while mom was feeling good. Will cherish that forever.

The week after, mom ended back in the hospital due to low blood pressure and high heart rate. They then did another brain CT and MRI showing there was more fluid back on the brain and the tumors were bigger. On December 4th the neurosurgeon wanted to drain the fluid again as it causes terrible headaches and confusion. He also wanted to try and get a biopsy off the tumor on her brain to know how we could move forward.

Unfortunately the neurosurgeon said he was not able to safely take a biopsy and the fluid was able to be drained. At that time neuro said he would not be able to drain the fluid again. The team of doctors talked to us and after many discussions and prayers we had to decide what was most important, quality or quantity? We have chosen quality. We know it is the best option for mom as she has already done so many treatments, biopsies, and surgeries. Mom is tired and we want to make sure she has the best life that she can at this point. On Monday, January 8th, mom was put on hospice at my home. My siblings and I are caring for her alongside the nurse that comes in to have eyes on mom.

Mom has shown us how strong and brave one can be while fighting cancer- and now it’s time for us to help her.

If you have been blessed to meet our mom, even just in passing, you know she is one of the kindest and loving woman. It is my hope that we can band together and show her how much we love and support her. As many know, costs associated with hospice care, medications, end-of-life expenses can be difficult to afford, unfortunately mom doesn’t have life insurance or a burial policy.

How you can help:
1. Donate: Your financial support will make a significant impact on mom and family during this final stage of her brave journey.
2. Share: Please share this GoFundMe with your friends and family.
3. Send love and prayers. Even if you cannot donate, your thoughts and prayers mean the world to us.

If you are able to donate, please leave a note of encouragement to mom so we share how loved she is by all of us.

Thank you for being here to show your love and support for our mom a
nd our family.
