Tanya's Wellness from Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hi I am a Physical Therapist Assistant living in Southern Oregon. I moved here 3 years ago from Los Angeles to buy a house and live in a beautiful outdoor environment. My boyfriend and I bought our first house last year in March and started our own business in Low Voltage Construction in November. That December, 2 weeks prior to our first Christmas in our new home I found a large lump in my right breast. I went to the Doctors & had a mammogram, a ultrasound biopsy, and a MRI of both breast. The test confirmed that I had Breast Cancer on the right side. They believed that I could possibly have a small area forming on the left breast as well, but test were unable to confirm. I opted to have a bi-lateral mastectomy to remove a 5cm tumor on Right side & preventative for the left. The Doctors found after surgery that 4 out 16 lymph nodes were invaded with cancer cells on the right side and no lymph nodes on the left. I will now require radiation therapy on the right side for 6 weeks to help prevent cancer from spreading and returning.
Unfortunately I did not have any Paid time off or short term disability during the time I would need to take off of work from working in a skilled nursing facility. Due to the heavy physical labor of my job, my Doctors do not want me working during this time. I was fortunate enough to have some great co-workers who donated paid time off for 4 weeks to me so I could continue to pay my mortgage & house bills while Aaron, my boyfriend & I could continue to start our business & not loose all we had put into it. I do have good health insurance but I have doctor bills coming in daily that need to be paid for that are not covered by insurance.
I now have house bills & medical bills coming in that I really could use assistance with so we do not loose our first home or business. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You!!!
