Tanya's New Liver
Donation protected
Tanya, her husband Mark, and their adorable dog Thomas live in Asheville, NC. Tanya's fall has gone in directions none of us would have ever predicted.
Tanya had been feeling bad for a couple of weeks in September and finally felt bad enough to go to the ER on October 7th 2021. She was admitted to Advent Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. There she was diagnosed with liver disease. She stayed a few days and was discharged to go home with follow up appointments. The doctors were not sure of the extent of her disease. She had a follow up appointment on October 20, 2021 where liver and kidney numbers looked very bad. She was directly admitted back to Advent Health and treated for possible hepatorenal failure. The liver disease was deemed so severe that she qualified for a transplant. On October 25, 2021 she was transported to Carolina Medical Center for evaluation.
Thankfully, she is not in hepatorenal failure, but her liver is not functioning on it's own and a transplant is her only option. After several setbacks with pneumonia, white blood cell count, and lack of strength, she is hopeful that her pending status on the transplant list will be moved to active in the very near future. Mark and Tanya's sister Tiffany are grateful they can both be in Charlotte with Tanya during this time.
As you can imagine, there are many expenses that are adding up during this time. Any contribution would be welcomed and used as needed during this time of treatment and recovery.
Above all, we welcome prayers for her healing, and the doctor's wisdom as they work to help her get the new liver that she desperately needs.
