Library for Matimu School, Tanzania
Donation protected
Help us bring a library to the Matim Primary School in Tanzania!
What is the Matim Primary School?
Matim Primary School is a public school that serves 900 Maasai children in the Le Manyatta Valley of Tanzania, East Africa.
Why are we raising funds for a library?
The government in this region provides the buildings and teachers (1 per 100 students) but no supplies. All books, paper, pencils etc. are purchased by these very poor families or donated by charitable groups like A is For Africa (AIFA), a 501 (3c) founded by the Smith family from Maryland, USA.
What else is A is for Africa doing to help?
AIFA feeds these 900 children a porridge lunch each school day, has built a kindergarten, brought electricity that completed a computer lab, payed for teacher training and provided class sets of text books. Learn more about our recent projects and see some great photos here! A library that will serve this whole community is next!
How will my donation be used?
Your generous donation will be used for the books, supplies, and construction of the new library. 100% of donations go to the needs of the school; administrative needs and travel expenses are covered by the Smith family.
How else can I help support A is for Africa?
There are many ways you can help our mission ! You can help us by spreading the word on social media,
through email, and by telling your friends in person. Share this link to help raise awareness for this fundraiser! http://www.gofundme.com/TanzaniaLibrary
You can also help fund meals for the students, computer labs, and future teacher training by donating via Pay Pal, using Molly at A is for Africa Thank you!
