Who this will help

My name is Erika Helnarski. I’m a neighbor and friend to the Stacey family. I had the great privilege of being both Finn and Sabrina’s early childhood teacher for the last 7 years. It’s been an honor to watch them both grow-Sabrina since the age of 2 and Finn since the day he was born.

Why I'm fundraising

During these last 7 years a close relationship and trust developed between the Stacey family and my own. Sharing in many birthday and holiday celebrations and exchanging funny stories and pictures of the kids.

Matt and Tara have always been quick to offer a helping hand with anything-whether it’s picking my son up from school, helping trim a branch or offering advice on how to patch my crumbling stairs.

To say that the sudden and unexpected passing of Tara was shocking would be an understatement. Our conversations over Christmas break were all about how we consider one another’s families, family.

As we get older the loss of loved ones and friends unfortunately becomes more of an occurrence in our lives, but to lose a 42 year old woman who is the mother to 2 young children, should never be a reality we have to face.

The impact of your support

Losing your spouse and becoming a one parent household in the blink of an eye is life altering to say the least.

I wanted to start this fundraiser to ensure that Matt has everything he and the children need while they navigate through this difficult time. They’ve always been so helpful to my family, and it’s my turn to do the same.
