Tarae Washington's funeral cost and her Children

Our names are Mirayah and Meleke King. We are the daughter and son of Tarae C. Washington who was brutally tortured and murdered by her estranged husband in her Pittsburgh home.

 We can’t put into words the heartbreak we feel at the loss of our beautiful mom. She gave so much of herself to us, to her grandkids, to all of her family and friends. Her spirit shined like the morning sun, warming those who saw her and spreading joy and hope. It hurts to even write that she’s gone. 

 Our mom always had a smile on her face. She loved to dance, play bingo, craft and spend time with those she loved. A fashionista, she enjoyed expressing herself through her stylish clothes. But what spoke loudest to those who knew her was her enormous heart. She tried to help whenever she could and wanted to lift up anyone who has feeling down. We’re touched by the outpouring of posts and calls by people who were encouraged by her in countless ways. Thank you. She did not deserve to be taken in this way.

 We ask that you please continue to pray for our family and donate if you can. As we try to cope with our unthinkable loss, we’re now faced with the painful process of planning her homegoing and navigating how we’ll make it through our grief. Costs are piling up including buying her a headstone, paying for other memorial expenses and making sure bills are covered from missing work and dealing with the trauma of our mother’s murder.
