Taricaya Solar Water Pump

Thank you to everyone who shared our cause and donated, thanks to your generosity we reached our goal. We purchased solar panels with the original goal to run the water pump, but during installation we realized that by using them as a replacement for our main generator we could save even more money. Our solar panels now run all of our electricity including keeping our freezers cold, our kitchen lit and our necessities charged. We are hoping down the line we will be able to purchase more panels to run our water pump as well. Going forward we still need help with our month-to-month costs so we can stay operational through the crisis. .While the whole world stops, Taricaya keeps on going. We have animals that rely on their care whether borders are closed and we are quarantined or not (we are). Due to Peru's borders being closed and our quarantine, the normal steady flow of volunteers that we rely on for both physical and financial support has stopped, as well as our primary sources of funding.  We have been brainstorming ways to cut costs over the coming months while keeping operations running as normally as possible. In order to save money on gasoline for our generators and become more ecologically sustainable we are asking for help to buy a water pump powered by solar panels. This will allow us to provide water for people and animals without the use of a traditional gasoline pump. All funds raised will go directly to this solar powered water pump, making us more sustainable environmentally and financially going forward.
