Taryn's Fight Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Helen and I’m fundraising for my niece Taryn.

Taryn was recently diagnosed with a Stage 4 rare liver cancer called hepatocellular malignant neoplasm, not otherwise specified (HEM NOS). She is not a candidate for a liver transplant because it has spread to the bones.

Taryn is only 12 years old and was healthy before her diagnosis. She is the youngest of 4 children. She loves her family and friends. She loves to make everyone happy and smile all the time.

On the first day of January, she was admitted to the local community hospital. She had originally been looking forward to hanging out with her friends one more time before Winter break ended, but unfortunately, she did not have the chance to do that. She looks forward to going back to school and hanging out with her friends outside of the hospital again.

She is currently getting chemotherapy and is admitted to The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Although her chemotherapy journey has just started, the treatment requires a multitude of medicines to target not only the malignant tumor but also her allergic reaction to some of the medicines. Funds raised will be allocated to her expenses for her treatment and her mom, Tina's, recent unemployment to take care of Taryn.
