Tasha Williams Cancer Care Fundraiser

Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls,

 

I come before you with a deep and sincere request for support for my best friend of 22 years. Natasha Williams, a young vibrant, fun, full of life 34-year-old is courageously fighting cancer in Ottawa, Ontario.

 

Tasha recently ventured out to Ottawa from Manitoba with her long-time partner and love of her life under a new work contract.

She went to the hospital for a lump in her breast and pain in her underarm and shoulder. A tumour was found in her right breast, from there Tasha underwent various tests. She was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, which has formed into malignant metastatic breast cancer. This has spread to her lymph nodes and pectoral muscle.

Tasha is undergoing treatment in Ottawa, while most of her supports are in Manitoba. Her partner still needs to continue working to support them both. She will need assistance with getting to and from hospital for chemo/radiation, paying for parking, food and much more.

We want to come together as a community to provide her with the love, encouragement, and financial assistance she needs during this challenging time.

 

Tasha is unable to work during her treatment, and she has limited insurance that doesn't cover the necessary treatment costs and a critical condition that requires immediate attention. Making less than a quarter of her income through “medical EI” makes affording treatment seemingly impossible.

Her parents, family, friends and many of her supports are in Manitoba and are all desperately trying to have a set schedule amongst them to be with her during this crisis. As they grapple with the complexities of cancer treatment, their need for our support is paramount now more than ever. The mounting medical expenses are daunting, but we believe that if we come together, we can help offset some of these financial challenges, letting us prioritize her urgent recovery.
