But breast cancer doesn't discriminate.

"Cancer Dick Kicking" (CDK) is the plan - she coined it herself. It is a big deal: it's Katie's mountain and her family's war, but it takes a village to fight and heal.

The thing that unites us is our desire to help in a way that is practical, meaningful and timely for this family.

CDK is all-consuming, and will be demanding of this young family's emotional, physical and financial resources for some time.

The financial burden of treatment is significant and distressing,  it even has a name: "cancer treatment financial toxicity".
