Tate Mallory Medical Expenses

Donation protected
As many of you know and for those of you that don’t, Tate Mallory has been having difficulty with a ruptured disc over the course of the last two months. His intense nerve pain started on December 9th and has had very little relief since then. Tate went under a procedure to remove the ruptured disc and it was replaced with an apparatus to act as a new disc. He had difficulties with this procedure leading him to go back to see his surgeon Dr. Reeder (who has been doing a wonderful job) who found that his new disc was dislodging, resulting in the scheduling of an emergency surgery to do a cervical fusion (fusing his vertebrae together). After Tate woke from the surgery he was complaining about throat pain but was in significantly less discomfort. Dakota Dunes Surgical Center kept him for another day before discharging him. After discharge he went home but woke up the following morning (Saturday, February 6) with extreme swelling in his throat and tongue. He was immediately rushed to the emergency department at Mercyone Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa and admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. The medical staff were able to get a breathing tube through his nose before the airway was closed completely. He has been in a medically induced coma and breathing through a ventilator since Saturday, February 6th. The ICU team suspected the swelling to go down within the next 2-3 days but as we approach the end of the third day we have seen a very small improvement in the swelling. Tate is unable to breathe, swallow or talk on his own. Today the medical team placed a feeding tube through his nose so he is able to be fed now. The ICU team estimates he will be in this state for another 2-3 days but can not guarantee that the swelling will go down during this period.

Tate is a single father, loved by his children Shania, Cheyenne, Tristin and Tate Jr. Mallory. We are asking for financial assistance to lessen the weight of this extremely stressful time. All assistance will go towards medical bills, transportation for his children to get to and from the ICU, and other related expenses. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated during this difficult time.

Please keep Tate in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
