Tate’s Fight Against Cancer

Hello, our names are Kurtis, Kiley, Mandi and Miriah, and we are close family friends of Adam, Corey & Tate Foley, and will be running this page and their fundraising efforts.

Let’s start off with the wonderful boy that this page is meant to help. Tate is your typical 5 year old boy who loves legos, hot wheels, and (as you can see in pictures), is the most smiley and happy boy. His parents, Corey and Adam, are the friends and family members, that everyone would be lucky to have and have. They have helped us and others through difficult times in our lives, and now it is time for us to help them.

Tate’s Story:

In early January 2025, after Tate recently had turned 5, we all became aware of news that no one ever wants to hear and a parent’s worst nightmare. Tate was taken to a local emergency room with a lump on his belly. What was thought to be an enlarged spleen from possible Mononucleosis infection, turned out to be cancer. Over the next few days the family was sent to Thunder Bay and then flown to Children’s Hospital in London, Ontario, where they were told that Tate had a cancer called a Wilm’s tumour, also known as nephroblastoma (kidney cancer) and appears to have possibly spread to his lungs.

Everything has happened so quickly, so there is a lot more that we do not know yet, and a lot more to come. They have been told Tate will need 6 weeks of chemotherapy, then surgery, then another 6 weeks of chemotherapy. We will update this page as we know more, and under the guidance of Adam and Corey.

We created this page to raise funds for the family, as financial burden of something like this should never cause a family any distress. The money raised will go directly to them and help offset costs of their time spent away for Tate’s treatment, missed work for several months, bills and extra supports.
