Tatiana Takes Spain!

Hey Village!

It’s me Tatiana or “TiTi” as most of you have affectionately known me by my whole life. So, guess what? I AM TAKING MY PERCUSSION SKILLS ABROAD TO SPAIN AND PORTUGAL THIS SUMMER!!

Did your heart just skip a beat? Good because mine did too when I first found out!

Rewind…so, as many of you know, I have loved playing the drums since my mother gifted me my first drum set when I was 5. I received private lessons during my elementary years and was accepted into Thomas Pullen Creative Performing Arts, majoring in Band with a primary focus on percussion during middle school. Fast forward to my high school days and now you can find me on any given day performing with the Bowie High School Marching Band or Dawg Pound Drumline.

In January 2022, I received a special invitation directly from the DC Youth Orchestra Program to travel to Spain and Portugal this summer in June!! After I came out of shock, I knew it was a no brainer for my family to allow me to experience such an amazing opportunity. Traveling abroad, increasing my knowledge and skillset, and applying the experience to my musician resume for college can open so many doors of opportunity!

So, why am I sharing this news with you? I would love if my village that has watched and supported my growth through the years would help me in any way you possibly can, financially. Even $1 can help reach my goal to experience this type of once in a lifetime opportunity.
