Hi I'm 8 Ball Aitken, long time friend / collaborator / musical mate to Taya Chani. She needs our help and here's the story...
Taya Chani is having vocal surgery on June 18th to fix a lump on her vocal chords. She is a professional singer who makes her living with her voice. We’ve all enjoyed her performances, and recordings and want her back on stage healthy and singing again. This is serious, but safe and effective surgery. The specialist/surgeon is confident that she will heal and return better than ever.
The Australian musician support group 'Support Act’ have been able to help pay for a chunk of the surgery cost (thank you Support Act). There are many more costs still to pay on the road to wellness. Still to go is the remainder of surgery costs, recovery time with no singing for 6-8 weeks, speech therapy, and follow up appointments, all the while being a renter in Sydney (ridiculous cost of living in the big smoke).
Taya could really use our help and support to get through this hard time. She’s brave and moving forwards.
Does anyone near Sydney need a gardener? Or a portrait painted? Taya has two side businesses, which are gardening and also painting portraits. She has plenty of time slots open. Winter is the quiet time for gardening in Sydney. Trees grow a lot more rapidly in Summer than the cooler months. She’ll be using her other skills and work ethic while not talking or singing, please get in contact with her.
