Degloving
Degloving injuries occur when the skin is pulled off the underlying tissue. This can happen easily to tails when trapped between a door, fence or when pulled by another animal. These wounds are painful and at risk for infection as the underlying tendons, muscles and bone are exposed.
Taylor Needs Your Help
After feeding an outdoor cat for over a year, Rescue Angels was called with a plea for help. The caller reported that this cat’s tail was badly injured to the point of bone being exposed. Pictures showed obvious major trauma to the tail requiring immediate vet care.
After a nail biting wait of almost twelve hours, the trap finally dropped around 10:30 pm. Seeing images of the extent of the damage done to the tail, Green Lane Animal Hospital let us bring her in early this morning in order to prep Taylor for immediate care and surgery.
Of late, Rescue Angels has had a spate of furry souls demanding a great deal of additional medical care above and beyond what is normally done. As a not for profit, 100% volunteer, non-funded, no-kill rescue, Rescue Angels is reaching out for your support in helping us fight the good fight for Taylor.
