Taylor Carver Needs Eye Surgery

Hi everyone, my name is Heather. Taylor is one of my best friends, and he needs help. If you’re here, it’s probably because you’re from one of the many amazing comedy scenes from across this country and you know Taylor Carver. Maybe you’re from the PEI arts community, or maybe you’re one of those normal people involved in neither but Taylor is still in your life.

Taylor Carver is known for being clever, a constant helping hand to new comics, and for his dour attitude. What Taylor isn’t known for is asking for favours, even though he’s been dealt some real rough hands in this life.

Right now, Taylor is finally asking for help. Taylor needs surgery for his eyes. For the past 11 months, he’s been experiencing loss of vision, blurriness, light sensitivity and severe headaches. He’s been seeing doctors consistently but not seeing improvement. He’s learned that the best option is eye surgery as soon as possible. It isn’t covered. Taylor has already been covering the unexpected costs of eight new prescriptions to attempt to correct his vision. Along with paying for surgery, he will also have new prescriptions he has to take in advance and following his surgery.

Taylor is looking for $6000, the breakdown is the following:

The cost of the surgery

Medications for pre and post-operation

New glasses with the new prescription that he will need post-surgery,

Bills/cost of living (rent, food, cell phone) for the next two months while he recovers

Taylor has said, “I know $6000 is a lot of money, especially since we are in the middle of a pandemic and none of my friends or family owns Amazon. Please know that this money would genuinely improve my current quality of life so much and it would prevent pretty dire health issues later in life. I have spent the past 11 months in pretty rough shape emotionally, the strain of eye issues has really done a number on me. Even the fact of knowing I will be able to get better and not have to worry for the next two months would be such an emotional load off. I cannot even begin to explain. Thank you for any and all help, it means a great deal.”
