Taylor Deming's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
My name is Jessica Simmons and I'm raising funds for Taylor, Molly, and the girls. As someone who's been through a traumatic life event, I know how helpful a GoFundMe can be to give this sweet family some piece of mind without worrying about the bills that may be piling up at home.
UPDATE FROM MOLLY ON Saturday, July 15 THAT COVERS EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENED SO FAR:
Taylor Update: the docs are really impressed by Taylor and how well he’s doing considering all he has been through within these last 10 days. The goal today is to hopefully be able to remove his drain and icp monitor today and get him moving around. ❤️❤️ I wanted to take this time to summarize the events of the past 10 days for those who haven’t been informed fully. I took taylor to Jackson General Wednesday July 5th due to his speech being off thinking it was simple dehydration from the vomiting he had been enduring over the previous weekend along with severe headaches. There they assumed it was a tick bite but did a Ct scan and decided he should seek a higher level of care At Vanderbilt. So they airlifted him here. After an MRI and Lumbar puncture they determined it was not a tick bite but he had a viral infection in his brain due to his weakened immune system from being sick. He also had an issue with his sodium so they had to balance fluids but limit his fluid intake at the same time to slowly get his levels back up. They began antivirals and we began seeing improvement. By late Sunday early Monday his improvement began declining. After another Ct scan a small bleed was discovered that continued to spread leading to a drain, icp monitor but ultimately lead to surgery due to the amount of pressure he had beginning to press on his brain stem. The surgery was successful and they removed 60 percent of the bleed (the main concern of it) and this proved to be successful because the pressure has let up. This surgery though invasive did not cause any more damage than what we are seeing with his speech/memory right now. They did remove a piece of his skull to help with the pressure and swelling and that will be reattached when they feel it’s time. I know we’ve informed people during different moments of these events so I wanted to make sure EVERYONE was on the same page with us. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. I’m so amazed by this community we have that loves us so much. I can never thank y’all enough.

Taylor has continued to endure more set backs over the past few days but he's a heck of a fighter. On top of everything he suffered a pulmonary embolism July 15th that weakened his heart and lungs. He had a thrombectomy to remove the embolism and He was moved to the cardiac icu for a few days while they got his heart and lungs back where they needed to be. July 18th he was able to transfer back on to Neuro ICU to focus back on his brain. We are back to square one with the addition of possible clots now and he's on heparin currently to prevent anymore PEs (which is not good for the brain bleed) so Neuro is having to keep an extra keen eye on him now. Please continue to pray for my husband and thank you all for the love and support. It absolutely means the world to us all.
Let's all pull together like the community I know we are and take care of Taylor, Molly, Charlie, and Harper.
No amount is too small, because everything adds up to something great.
These funds will help Molly with the back and forth to Nashville, any necessities while they're at Vanderbilt, and bills at home as she and Taylor are almost out of PTO days at their jobs.
Thank you for your donation, and please share to get the word out!
