Lau family support fund
On Saturday, August 28, 2021, a beautiful man gave his life to the Lord too soon. Taylor Jesse Lau was born October 12, 1988 in Durango, Colorado where he was raised and lived his life. Taylor was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend. This has come as a complete shock to his entire family, friends and the Durango community. As many of you know Taylor always lived life with a smile on his face. A smile so big it would even stop a stranger in their tracks! He had a fierce love for the outdoors and always found peace paddling on the river, camping with his family and friends, the adrenaline of downhill mountain biking on a cool Colorado summer night, and exploring nature with his "adventure wife" and son Maddox. Taylor was everyone's biggest fan! He often shared how important his family was to him and how he looked up to his grandparents, parents, brother and sister, wife and all of his extended family. The Lau famiy has a bond that is so pure and admired by the Durango community and Taylor will be dearly missed.
The Lau family has kindly asked me (Lauren Walsleben/Dent) to set up this gofundme page to raise funds to support Taylor's wife Lynnea and son Maddox. As you can imagine it is going to take some time for Lynnea to grieve the loss of her husband and navigate life as a single mom. Funds will be used towards helping Lynnea and Maddox travel to and from Baltimore and Durango to see her family, child care, housing costs, as well as allowing her some time to grieve before heading back to work. Whether it's monetary, a smile, a hug or inspiring words the Lau family has said that the outpouring of love and support from the community has been tangibly felt by Taylor's family in this deep time of grieving and they are deeply moved.
As of now the families wishes are to gather with the immediate family to grieve the loss of Taylor. They will keep friends and the community posted through this gofundme page on a celebration of Taylor's life likely to be scheduled in 2022.
