#TayStrong...Taylin Burris road to recovery

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Shelley Burris and I am setting up this go-fund-me to help my sweet precious niece Taylin Burris. On October 25 Taylin was involved in an accident while on vacation in Florida with her mother, where the scooter she was riding hit a SUV head on. She sustained a broken femur and knee cap on her right leg and multiple cuts and bruises as well as ligament injury to her neck. She was in the hospital several days and came home on Sunday and was doing well in her recovery. On Wednesday night she became unresponsive at home. She was rushed to the hospital where they found that she had a large stroke. It was then discovered that also injured in the accident were the vessels in her neck, her carotid arteries, where unfortunately a large clot had formed in the left side carotid and it went to her brain and caused a large stroke in her left frontal lobe. It has left her not able to mover her right side of her body and to not have the ability to talk. She is able to move her left side and she does understand and is able to respond and open her eyes and follow commands. She had to undergo a surgery on Thursday night where they removed a large part of her skull bone over the left front of her skull to allow the injured brain below room to swell so that it would not cause further damage to any other part of her brain. The surgery went well and she has remained stable. She is currently still intubated and sedated to allow her brain to rest and recover. She has swelling in her brain and face, but she is still responsive and opens her eyes and moves. She has had a low grade temp, but it and her other vital signs have all remained stable. We are hopeful that she will be able to be taken off the breathing tube and sedation soon and we will be able to begin the long journey of recovery.
Taylin has been so strong and we have seen and experienced and felt her and her family covered in the prayers of so many. We covet and appreciate the prayers and petitions to God so much. There have been many "But God" moments so far and we anticipate so many more as we continue to prayer for miraculous healing and an unexplainable recovery for our sweet girl. The road to recovery will be a long one and unfortunately an expensive one, so that is why we are now asking for your help financially, if there is anything you would be willing to do to help. Taylin just turned 18 last month and unfortunately she lost her insurance and in the gap before getting new insurance, this happened. So any donations will be used for her medical bills, for her rehabilitation, and for the adaptations needed for her to be at home when the time comes. Bryan and Tammy are focused on Taylin first of course and we as her family want to find a way to help them get through this as we get her through this. It won't be an easy journey and will be full of change and struggles But we know that our God is Big and we know He is able to do abundantly more than we ask or think and we are fully trusting in Him. We are so thankful for the outpouring of prayers and support that we have gotten already and we humbly ask if anyone can help sweet Taylin that you will as you are led. This is one of those moments in life that you just never see happening, but it has happened and we are taking one step at a time, one day at a time and proceeding forth with faith relying on the strength and grace of God to sustain us. Thank you.
