Taz the Husky Houdini

Taz is the orange husky originally from California who escaped in Arlington Heights early on Easter morning. His owner Jori Lindley took a red eye flight Thursday night to come help search for him. He was terrified of everyone else and would not come to them. He was spotted this afternoon (Friday) and she went to that location and he came to her! He is back safe with her and she will be returning to California with him.

We are raising funds to help cover her expenses (flight here, vet check up, car rental to drive him back to Cali). Any additional funds will be donated by Jori to Lost Dogs Illinois to thank them for all their help trying to trap Taz. (Arlington Heights residents may remember the little white fluffy dog running around St Viator for days a couple of years ago, Lost Dogs IL also helped to trap that dog. The work they do to reunite lost dogs with their owners is amazing!)

Taz was not originally Jori’s dog. He was living next door to her and kept outside in that neighbor’s yard for three years, neglected. Jori made friends with him through her fence and when the owner’s were moving, they asked if she wanted him or they were going to drop him at a shelter. She had him for a week while trying to find him a home in a colder non-Cali-desert-climate. Her family here in AH said they would take him as they had a large yard. Jori thought he would acclimate to them as quickly as he did to her but he didn’t, and after being there 3 days he acted like a true Husky escape artist and got out of their yard. She has done so much to help this dog that was basically dumped in her yard so we’d like to help her. Taz has obviously bonded with her and she is going to keep him forever.
