#donateameal
Donation protected
Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit last year we produced and delivered over 20,000 nutritious meals to the isolated and vulnerable in Barnet, Brent and Edmonton helping to alleviate the immediate food poverty and assist those that were shielding. This was thanks to the kind donations and the raft of volunteers that assisted us when we set up this fund #donateameal last year.
As the pandemic has persisted we have seen an increase in the number of people attending food banks and more people suffering with food poverty due to the increase in unemployment. There has also been an increase in mental health issues due to the prolonged periods of lockdown. Since August 2020 we have been producing our Recipe Meal Kits which contain all the ingredients and instructions to enable beneficiaries to cook a simple, nutritionally balanced and delicious meal at home for a family of 4. These kits not only help alleviate food poverty but they're also a more sustainable way for families to provide for their families giving them an activity to do together, providing inspiration for something different to make and educating them with new cookery skills and eating on a budget.
We're looking to raise the final sum of our target so that we can educate and feed 4,000 more people during these difficult times.
A recent survey by The Food Foundation highlighted the alarming scale of food poverty. Three million people in the UK (6 per cent) said they or someone in their household had been unable to eat despite being hungry during the lockdown.
£5 will enable us to deliver a Meal Kit to feed a family of 4
A £10 donation enables us to feed 2 families of 4
£100 will help us educate and feed around 80 people
